Day 15 – Ores, Scrolls, and Strange Encounters

Today, I’ve been steadily gathering more and more ores in the Falador Mining Guild. The clue scroll grind is slowly but surely stacking up, though I’ll admit it’s starting to feel a little slow and a bit monotonous at times. Still, something unexpected happened that added a strange kind of liveliness to the day.

I had a social encounter that reminded me of how other players in this game can act quite funny—almost childish—when faced with a “competitor” at the rocks. One player in particular caught my attention. I think he was trying to annoy me into switching worlds or leaving the mining spot, because he started following me and spamming mocking emotes in my direction.

At first, I felt a bit anxious, like, why is this person targeting me? But after a few minutes, I relaxed. I was still getting ores just fine (hehe), and eventually I found it funny. I figured they were probably just a kid having fun in their own chaotic way.

Honestly, while I enjoy mining in peace, I also don’t mind these small interruptions. In fact, I’d rather have the occasional weird or annoying player encounter than none at all. The trick is to keep the mood chill, take it lightly, and see the humor in other players’ antics. I was a kid once, too—and a teen who probably got worked up over little things in-game. But even back then, I never liked using insults like “noob” toward others. I actually like the word now—I call myself a noob all the time! But I always preferred to keep things kind, even in the chaos.

Anyway, it is kind of fun when people swarm for the juicier ores like adamantite and gold. If I run into another strange or funny interaction with players, I might share it here again. Of course, I’ll never reveal anyone’s username—this isn’t about calling people out, just observing the weird little social micro-moments that happen in the mines.

For now, I’ll keep grinding with some cozy background music and keep pushing toward the 100 clue scroll goal. I’m currently at 58% of the way to level 92 Mining, and every time I gather four or five scrolls, I take a little break to solve them and bank the caskets. I love these little treasure-hunting interludes—they add a nice spark to the routine. And the best part? I can now solve them without checking the OSRS wiki. Feeling pretty pro for a humble free-to-play noob!

🐦 Bird Fact of the Day

Not all birds follow the same strategy when it comes to raising young! Some species, like the wandering albatross, lay just one egg and invest months into raising a single chick. Others—like the northern bobwhite—can lay 10 to 15 eggs in a single clutch! These differences reflect diverse evolutionary strategies: some birds prioritize protection and parental care, while others bet on numbers for survival. Nature is full of incredible variety.

⛏ Achievements of the Day
