Day 23 – One Hundred Box Scrolls and Two F2P Bosses

Okay, okay — new day, new grind, and actually… the last day of my 100 box scroll hunt! Can you guess what happened?

I started by crafting over 600 amulets of strength and selling them off for a nice profit. Then I decided it was time for a little bossing. I headed to face Bryophyta, one of the two F2P bosses. I had just over 30 mossy keys saved in the bank, and since I heard there’d been a recent update to her (and to Obor), I had to check it out.

To my surprise, the fight did change a bit! Taking down the three growthlings felt smoother — wielding the axe seems to help. Aside from that, it’s mostly the same, but I still enjoyed it. Biggest highlight? I got Bryophyta’s essence, her most valuable drop — let’s gooo!

But here’s the kicker: Bryophyta drops a clue scroll with every kill! That made it incredibly fast to stack up more and more… and I almost hit my goal right there. I only stopped because I ran out of mossy keys (future grind alert).

Still riding that high, I finally gave Obor a try! I watched a short YouTube guide and went for it. Weirdly, even though he has lower combat than Bryophyta, he hits hard. But once I got the rhythm, it wasn’t bad at all — no annoying growthlings to deal with either. Loot highlights included rune battleaxes, 8k gp, death runes, 50 noted big bones, and now I’m just hoping for the Hill Giant Club soon.

So, after all that… I did it! 100 beginner clue scrolls stacked and ready. What better way to celebrate this Fun Friday, as my middle school English teacher used to say?

I rushed to the Varrock bank and opened them all. Best loot:

• 🦜 Shoulder parrot

• 🐾 Bear feet

• 🎩 Two sandwich lady hats

• 🎭 Jester cape

• 🧘 Monk’s robe (t) ×2

I already have all of these unique clothing items, so I’ll be selling them off — goodbye, fashion-scape doppelgängers. 💅

It was so satisfying to hit this goal after days of grinding. The pace really picked up today with all the bossing! Going forward, I probably won’t aim for 100 scrolls every time, but I think every 50 or so sounds like a fun checkpoint to repeat.

I’ve now completed 516 beginner Treasure Trails! 😱💫
