Day 24 – New Discoveries and Ogress Surprises

After checking my stats, I realized my Ranged level had been feeling a bit... neglected. So, I packed my gear and headed down to Corsair Cove for the very first time. There, I discovered the joy of fighting Ogress Warriors and Shamans—and let me tell you, they did not disappoint!

These monsters are fun. They hit hard enough to keep things interesting and reward you with all sorts of goodies: rune items, uncut gems, and even a bit of gold. I didn’t expect it to feel so much like a mini treasure hunt, but it absolutely did.

Unfortunately, this first grind couldn’t last long—I'm nearly out of food—but it still felt like a major win. Ogresses are now officially on my list of top 5 monsters to slay and chill with. No new levels today, but I’m already planning to hit the fishing spots and stock up on lobsters or swordfish, just to come right back and train more Ranged here!

🪙 Achievements of the Day

  • Discovered Corsair Cove Ogresses

  • First grind session at Ogress Warriors and Shamans

  • Looted rune gear, gems, and gp

  • Added Ogresses to personal favorite monster list

  • Prepping for next ranged grind with fishing!

🪶 Bird Fact of the Day
Many bird species live surprisingly complex social lives. Some, like the Acorn Woodpecker, form large family groups where older siblings help raise younger ones—a behavior known as cooperative breeding. Others, like House Wrens or Tropical Kingbirds, are fiercely territorial and will chase away much larger birds (and even small mammals!) to protect their nest and food sources. Social birds often rely on vocalizations to coordinate, alert each other to danger, or defend their turf. So next time you hear a sudden burst of noisy chirping, it might just be a neighborhood turf war in the treetops!

📜 Until Tomorrow, Adventurer...
No level ups today, but the map just got a little bigger and the Ogresses a little friendlier (well, kind of). Tomorrow, we prep supplies and return with a vengeance—lobsters in one hand, ranged gear in the other. Stay sharp, and may your loot tables be generous!
